Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 May 2026

eAcademy ("eAcademy", "we", "us" or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, hold, disclose and protect your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It applies to this website ( offer.eacademy.com.au) and all related services we provide.

1. What information we collect

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide our tutoring services and respond to enquiries. This may include:

  • Identity and contact details: full name, student's first name, email address, mobile number, preferred contact method and best time to contact you.
  • Student information: year level, subjects of interest, learning goals and stated start preference.
  • Enquiry content: any free-text message or notes you submit through our forms.
  • Technical and analytics data: IP address, browser type, device information, referring URL, UTM parameters, and aggregated usage analytics collected automatically when you visit the site.
  • Communications: records of messages exchanged with us via email, phone, SMS or WhatsApp.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act). If a parent or guardian provides information about a student under 18, they confirm they have authority to do so.

2. How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you complete a form on our website, contact us, request a quote, or interact with our team. We also collect limited technical information automatically through cookies and analytics tools (see Section 7).

3. Why we collect and use it

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to your enquiry and provide a personalised quote;
  • Match students with a suitable tutor and deliver our tutoring services;
  • Communicate with you about scheduling, progress, billing and service updates;
  • Improve our website, services and customer experience;
  • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations; and
  • With your consent, send you occasional educational content or offers (you can opt out at any time).

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We only disclose it to:

  • Tutors and staff who need it to deliver your tutoring program;
  • Trusted service providers who help us run our business — including hosting, database, email, analytics, payment processing and customer messaging providers — bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations;
  • Professional advisors (e.g. lawyers, accountants); and
  • Law enforcement, regulators or other parties where required or permitted by Australian law.

5. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers (for example, cloud hosting, analytics and messaging platforms) may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. We take reasonable steps to ensure any overseas recipient handles your personal information consistently with the APPs.

6. How we store and protect it

Personal information is stored in secure, access-controlled systems. We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, authentication, audit logs and secure backups. While no system is perfectly secure, we work hard to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes set out above or as required by law, after which it is securely deleted or de-identified.

7. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, measure engagement and improve performance. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some site features may not work as intended. We may use third-party analytics providers (such as web analytics tools) to collect aggregated usage data; these providers act as our service providers and are not permitted to use the data for their own purposes.

8. Direct marketing

We will only send you marketing communications where permitted by law. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by emailing contact@eacademy.com.au.

9. Accessing and correcting your information

You can request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing contact@eacademy.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first. There is no fee for making a request, though we may charge a reasonable cost-recovery fee for providing access in certain cases.

10. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the APPs or mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at contact@eacademy.com.au. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

11. Children's privacy

Our services are intended for use by NSW HSC students (typically aged 15–18). Where a student is under 18, we expect a parent or guardian to provide consent and oversee the engagement. We do not knowingly collect more personal information from minors than is necessary to provide our services.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, with the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated through the site or by email where appropriate.
